Everyday use
Use your board on a stable, dry surface. End-grain timber is kind to knife edges, so let the blade do the work without excessive force.
Cleaning
Hand-wash only. Wipe the board with warm, soapy water and a cloth or soft brush, rinse, and dry immediately with a towel. Never put your board in the dishwasher, and do not leave it to soak in water — prolonged moisture can cause warping or splitting.
Drying and storage
Stand the board on its edge or rest it upright so air can circulate around both faces while it dries. Store it somewhere dry and away from direct heat sources such as ovens, radiators or hobs.
Oiling
Wood is a natural material and needs occasional nourishing to stay water-resistant. Re-oil your board regularly with a food-safe board oil — more often when it is new or in heavy use, then as needed once the colour deepens and the surface stops absorbing oil.
