Cloumann believes in sustainability, and all of our wood is Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified. This means the maple and American walnut we work with comes from forests that are managed to protect biodiversity, support local communities and ensure timber is replenished faster than it is harvested.
FSC-certified hardwood
FSC certification provides independent assurance that the wood in every board can be traced back to a responsibly managed source. We choose certified suppliers so that the materials at the heart of our products meet recognised environmental and social standards.
Built to last
The most sustainable product is one you never need to replace. Our end-grain boards are made to be repaired, re-oiled and re-sanded rather than discarded, giving them a working life measured in decades. Caring for your board correctly is part of that longevity — see our instructions for use for guidance.
Responsible making
Each board is handcrafted in the United Kingdom, keeping our supply chain short and transparent. We hold our partners, staff and contractors to high ethical standards across every stage of a product's life — read more in our modern slavery statement.
