The Artisan's Note
A word from the workbench
“I started Cloumann because I was tired of beautiful things that don't last, and lasting things that aren't beautiful. A board should be both.”
Every board that leaves the workshop has passed through my hands — graded, glued, flattened, sanded and oiled until it feels right, not just looks right. End-grain work is slow, and I wouldn't have it any other way. When you commission a Cloumann board, you're not buying kitchenware; you're starting something your family will still be using long after the fashion has moved on. That's the whole point.
